Akrobaten Bridge
Akrobaten Bridge
Inspired by the people, the landscape, the culture, the design, and the architecture, the final design was inspired by the Akrobaten Bridge in downtown Oslo. As a symbol of dynamic progress, connection, and movement, I thought it was a great point of inspiration for a logo that can be used and manipulated in many ways for uses in the Olympic visual system.
Two of my initial concepts took inspiration from the Oslo Opera House, two from the Akrobaten Bridge, and two from the general nordic design sensibility that mixes contrasting materials and colors together in order to create unique visual combinations.
Although that Scandinavian design didn't make its way into the logo, I let it sit front-and-center in the featured book by using scant but bold colors, clean typography, and geometric design.
